While Select Home Warranty offers customizable packages, their first and second level plans are limiting. The least expensive Bronze and Gold Care packages have limited coverage options, which forces customers to purchase their most expensive package.
Select Home Warranty makes a better option for homeowners who need coverage for a number of appliances. This way they can purchase the Platinum Care Plan to include a long list of appliances.
In addition to the three plans, customers can also sign up for optional add-ons like pool, central vacuum, second refrigerator, sump pump, well pump, roof leak, stand alone freezer, spa, lighting fixtures, and more.
Select Home Warranty offers three main packages with different coverage levels. It seems they make it difficult for customers to get coverage for the most important items unless they purchase the most expensive plan. The first and second tier plans have no overlapping coverage and very different, yet important items. The Bronze Care Plan includes clothes washer, garbage disposal, refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and clothes dryer. Unlike other home warranty companies, their second-tier plan excludes items covered in the first.
The Select Gold Care Plan includes heating systems, water heaters, plumbing systems, ductwork, A/C, and electrical system. The plan does not include items listed in the Bronze Care package.
The third-tier plan called the Platinum Care Plan includes all items in both the Gold and Bronze Care plans. In addition to those items, the Platinum Care Plan also includes plumbing stoppage, garage door opener, and ceiling fan.
Similar to other companies, Select Home Warranty excludes coverage of certain parts. For example, they agree to cover all modules, components, and parts of dishwashers. However, they exclude rinse aids, clogged drains, clogged lines, and latches. We recommend that customers read the terms of service before signing up to make sure they receive coverage that fits their needs.
Select Home Warranty charges a $60 deductible for each service call, a standard amount in the home warranty industry.
Customers who need assistance can get in touch with Select Home Warranty via email, telephone, and snail mail. While some customers have complained about their customer support, all in all, reviewers report high satisfaction ratings with Select Home Warranty. Happy customers report quick repairs with timely and courteous technicians.
